The original founder of The Dram Room has always had an interest in Single Malt Whisky and having friends in the Whisky industry, was able to purchase his favourite Malts direct from north of the border. 

As these malts came direct from bottlers, distillers and wholesalers, they were not the standard offerings found in supermarkets or off licences.

After opening the first T4 Cameras store (parent company of the Dram Room) over 25 years ago, it quickly became apparent that if you could buy unusual and quality single malts, there was absolutely no reason why you could not sell them alongside quality new & used photographic equipment!

The required licenses were duly obtained and a range of quality Single Malts introduced to the T4 Cameras Newbury store. The Dram Room was duly born and the new “stock” line quickly proved popular with both regular and new customers alike.

Over the years the T4 brand continued to grow but in 2014 the sad decision was taken to close the Newbury store. Later that same year, the Swindon store was refurbished and the decision was made to re-introduce the range of Single Malt Whisky. 

By this time the founder of T4 Cameras had retired and the new owners obtained the relevant personal and premises licences needed to enable the re-introduction of the Dram Room.
